Find Your Rhythm in the Daintree Rainforest: Daily RETREAT Schedule & Flow
Our daily retreat schedule at Prema Shanti Yoga and Meditation Retreat follows the natural rhythm of the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Rather than a rigid timetable, the daily retreat schedule offers a gentle flow of yoga, meditation, relaxation, and mindful experiences. Enjoy a true digital detox, disconnect from the demands of everyday life, and reconnect with yourself in a peaceful natural setting.
Daily Retreat Schedule
Morning: Awakening and Stillness
- 7:00 AM – Meditation in the Rainforest Temple: Wake to the natural alarm clock of tropical birdsong and join us in noble silence for our morning meditation, beginning with 21 resonant Oms.
This sacred time is an opportunity to turn inward, become fully present, and rest in simple awareness. Rather than trying to stop thoughts, we gently observe them and allow ourselves to experience the stillness beneath the constant activity of the mind.
After meditation, we open the floor for guest questions and insightful Dharma talks. - 8:15 AM – Wholesome Breakfast: After meditation, enjoy a nourishing, healthy breakfast featuring fresh tropical fruits, nuts, muesli, and yogurt. Fuel your body for the day ahead with simple, wholesome ingredients.
Daytime: The Art of Being & Daintree Exploration
The hours between breakfast and the evening yoga session are yours to fill—or leave beautifully empty. Whether you are looking for deep relaxation or Daintree Rainforest activities, there is plenty to experience:
Relaxation & Self-Care
- Unwind: Grab a book from our library and settle into a hammock on the balcony, listening to the breeze rustling through the ancient cycads.
- Massage & Wellness: Treat yourself to a range of nurturing on-site spa and massage treatments designed to deepen your physical and mental relaxation.
Explore Cape Tribulation & The Daintree
Our retreat is perfectly positioned for eco-adventures. Take a short drive or walk to explore the local area:
- Thornton Beach (5-minute drive) or Cape Tribulation (20-minute drive).
- Allow the magic of the rainforest, bathe in its presence with mindful walks and discover hidden pristine rainforest swimming holes.
- Explore the Great Barrier Reef, located just a few kilometers offshore.
- Visit local favorites like the Daintree Ice Cream Company, the Daintree Discovery Centre, exotic fruit tastings, or a crocodile river cruise.
Lunch Note: We encourage guests to explore local eco-cafes and restaurants for lunch. It’s a wonderful way to experience the local community and sample regional flavors.
Evening: Movement and Rest
- 6:00 PM – Evening Yoga Class: As the rainforest begins its evening chorus, we return to the temple. Our evening yoga practice is tailored entirely to the needs of the group and individuals—ranging from a revitalizing flow to a gentle, restorative yoga class, finishing with chanting, breath-work and sound healing depending on needs of the group at the time.
- 7:30 PM – Communal Vegetarian Dinner: Gather for a communal meal shared with fellow retreat guests. Delicious vegetarian food focusing on health, vitality, and nourishment.
Nightfall: Deep Sleep & Digital Detox
With no mobile reception or Wi-Fi to distract you, your evening is free for stargazing, quiet conversation, and the deeply restorative sleep that only the jungle can provide.
